A Brief History of Our School
Tsenkharla Central School is located on a ridge overlooking Kinzangling CS to the west, Kheni LSS to south east and facing Ramjar AMSS to South. It can be seen from the villages of four Gewogs and from as far as Younphula. It occupies 13.73 acres. The school was established in 1978 as Rangthangwoong Primary school. It derived its name from the two overlapping stones in the shape of traditional grinding stones. It was upgraded to a Lower Secondary School in 1995 with additional infrastructural development funded by World Bank. In 1997, then Secretary of Health and Education, Sangay Nidup renamed the school as Tsenkharla attaching importance and significance to historical Tsenkhar Dzong where Lhasey Tshangma resided in 9th century. The Dzong is five minutes’ walk from the school and is now in ruins.
It was upgraded to MSS in 2002 and is launched as Central School in 2015 and upgraded to high school in 2019. The school has been and will be continuously working in line with the policies and directives of the Ministry of Education to provide Quality Wholesome Education to the students enrolled herein. The school strives to follow its own school level management policies gearing towards excellence in all its endeavors.
